The Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve is home to several txakoli wineries where you can discover this unique wine and pair it with some of the region’s local products, such as Idiazabal cheese, Bermeo anchovies and Gernika peppers.
Urdaibai encompasses a wide variety of landscapes amongst which you will find small family vineyards that remain faithful to the traditional farmhouse way of working, respecting nature and the environment.

Located in Gernika itself, the Itsasmendi Winery is the perfect place to enjoy the magic of txakoli and they’ll be delighted to help you create your own tailor-made experience.
The Berroja Winery

Based in Muxika, not only does this winery provide some incredible views for you to enjoy, but also a wide range of activities including txakoli tastings and guided tours with lunches, dinners or tastings of home-made products.
The Amunategi Winery

The txakoli they make at the Amunategi winery belongs to the Txakoli de Bizkaia Denomination of Origin and originates from the Amunategi family’s own farm in Busturia (Vizcaya). They offer guided tours for groups with tastings of txakoli and gastronomic products from Urdaibai.
The Talleri Winery

This winery is right on St James’s Way and in the middle of the Biosphere Reserve. Located in Morga, in the heart of Bizkaia, it is the perfect spot to enjoy the lush green of the landscapes thanks to the Atlantic climate.
